Work on our projects
We are always looking for new project leaders and volunteers, and welcome applications at any time. You can find out more about what our project leaders do here.
Become a Freelance Project LEader
Our freelance project leaders come from different walks of life, and are all given full training and support for their projects. The only pre-requisites are that you share our belief in the importance of the arts in schools, and that you are able to stand up in front of a class of 10 and 11-year olds. Although classroom experience is helpful with this, it's not necessary.
Once trained, our project leaders work both on our school projects during school hours in term time (usually 2 hours per week per project) and also on other projects including holiday workshops.
Lead a project at your school
If you are a class teacher or TA who would like to change the lives of children at your school with our projects, we'd love to hear from you! We offer free training and full support to teachers leading their own projects, enabling you to bring out the best in your students and see them in a whole new light. It's an ideal option if your school would like to reduce the costs of a project. This offer is also open to TAs, PPA cover teachers and any other member of school staff who would be working on the project - please contact us if you think this option might be for you!
Volunteer with us
If you would like to be involved in a project but do not feel you can commit to project leadership, we also offer opportunities for classroom volunteers during the design and construction process. These volunteers work with YPPT projects on a one-off basis and can be particularly helpful during the costume design and production stage. The time commitment might typically be around 2 hours per week in occasional weeks during the year - it really is a low-commitment way to be involved! If you have artistic experience (particularly in sewing and textiles) and would like to join our database of volunteers, please email Caitlin (Administrator) at email@example.com.
