History of YPPTThe YPPT grew out of three collaborations (1999, 2001, 2004) between Jeremy Duschenes and Aboyne Lodge School in St Albans. The collaborations involved the Year Six classes, who made marionettes and performed shows with them at the end of the academic year. The projects were thoroughly enjoyed by pupils, staff and parents alike. In 2014, we contacted former pupils who were involved, and their memories were incredibly positive:

The YPPT was founded to spread this experience of puppetry to other schools and to bring the benefits to as many pupils as possible. In 2014-15, the YPPT worked with Aboyne Lodge School and the Purcell School, Bushey, and has since run nearly 80 projects across London and the surrounding counties. "I was so impressed with the puppet show. The pupils really did themselves proud and produced such a professional performance" (Year 6 parent, 2022)
