Project leadersWho are the YPPT project leaders? We have two kinds of project leaders: teachers leading projects at their own schools, and our freelance team. Our freelancers come from many walks of life, though the majority of them have experience in art or drama education, and many of them have classroom experience. All our project leaders attend our project leader training camp and are approved by the YPPT before running their first project. You can find out more about our current project leaders here.
What does a project leader do?The project leaders deliver the sessions for the project, teaching and overseeing the design and construction of the puppets, props, set and backdrops. They also rehearse and direct all aspects of the final performance, including puppet manipulation, scene changes, lights, sound and special effects.
Our freelance project leaders are paid for their work on projects. If a school has multiple projects with different classes, project leaders are encouraged to lead all the projects at that school. We offer continuous support to all project leaders so that they feel confident to deliver sessions at a high standard, and make sure that they have opportunities to network and share best practices. |
