Who are the YPPT project leaders?
Our project leaders come from many walks of life, though the majority of them have experience in art or drama education, and many of them have classroom experience. We also offer free training for teachers to run projects in their own schools - get in touch to find out more! All our project leaders attend our project leader training camp and are approved by the YPPT before running their first project. To find out more about becoming a project leader, click here.
What do they do?
The project leaders deliver the sessions for the project, teaching and overseeing the design and construction of the puppets, props, set and backdrops. They also rehearse and direct all aspects of the final performance, including puppet manipulation, scene changes, lights, sound and special effects.
YPPT project leaders are paid for their work on projects. If a school has multiple projects with different classes, project leaders are encouraged to lead all the projects at that school. We offer continuous support to all project leaders so that they feel confident to deliver sessions at a high standard, and make sure that they have opportunities to network and share best practices.
